December 2012 Prayer Letter

December 5, 2012

Dear Friends and Family,

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a meaningful time as a family sharing what we were thankful for over this past year. God blessed our family with an extra special treat this year when we were invited to a fellow missionaries’ home for turkey dinner which we had not had since the time of our arrival two years ago!!

March Trip to USA:

We have purchased our tickets for our trip to the U.S. in March.  This trip will allow Noriko to keep her green card up to date as well as gives us some time with friends, family and supporters. We will be arriving in Chicago on March 13th. Then we will be traveling to Dayton, Ohio on March 16th, visiting our sending church (Patterson Park Church) on the 17th. On Tuesday (19th) we are planning to leave for Columbus to spend sometime with Noriko’s host-family as well as to get our drivers license renewed.  Then on Friday (22nd) we will head back to Chad’s brother’s in Illinois and leave for Japan from Chicago on the 2nd of April. It will be a quick trip, but we hope to connect with as many people as possible along the way!

Christmas Outreach:

Stuffing Christmas Tracks

Stuffing Christmas Tracks

Christmas is approaching quickly, and the leadership and prayer group of our church have been in much prayer for the upcoming Christmas service and all the other outreach opportunities during this Christmas season. Please pray that the Lord will lead to these outreach opportunities the very people whose hearts He has been working to bring salvation into their lives. Some people will hear the gospel for the first time in their lives, so please pray that the seed of the gospel will be deeply planted in their hearts. For others, they have been exposed to the gospel already, but have not yet come to saving faith. Please pray that the seed in their hearts will be watered for growth or that this Christmas will be the time for reaping an eternal fruit of salvation in their lives. One huge praise is about a seeker who came to our Christmas service last year for the first time. The Lord has been working in her heart so much since, bringing about such a growing hunger to seek our God and His truth! Our prayer is that God will send more seekers like her along our way through this year’s Christmas outreach opportunities. Please also remember SonRise church members in your prayer that the Holy Spirit will strengthen and equip them adequately as servants of the gospel to perform faithfully all the roles and responsibilities given in these upcoming Christmas outreaches.

Update on Yoshiki’s school:

Yoshiki and his good friend Joshua got accepted into Japanese kindergarten and will start in April next year. We are excited to see how the Lord may use the family relationships that could be formed there for His eternal work and purposes.

We pray that you will have a very merry Christmas, and our hearts are so grateful for your continued faithful support toward our ministry here in Japan!

Sincerely,
Chad and Noriko

Prayer Requests:

  • Please pray for the upcoming Christmas service and all the other outreach opportunities of our church,  that the Lord will bring the very people whose hearts He has been working for their salvation, and that the message of the gospel will do it’s powerful work to plant the seed, grow it or reap an eternal fruit of salvation in these people’s hearts.
