Dear Friends and Family,
We hope this letter finds you well. The summer has flown by here. We spent the end of July in the mountains of Nagano at TEAM Japan’s Annual Conference. Then, at the beginning of August, Chad and the office team moved back into their newly renovated building. This has consumed a lot of Chad’s time these past months with planning, ordering, and installing new equipment for the office and TEAM Center (our guesthouse and meeting facility) in order for all of that to be completed before our upcoming six month home assignment (furlough) from the fall.
Noriko has been busy with the kids’ homework over the summer break. (Yes, Japanese children have lots of homework to do during summer break!). She has also been continuing with her ministry at the church as well as preparing to hand over her church ministry roles to other church members during her absence. We have also taken our annual trip to Noriko’s mother’s and enjoyed a nice visit with her and Noriko’s brother for a couple of days.
With so much going on this summer, we really have not had the chance to start thinking about scheduling meetings for our home assignment in September. We fly out on September 19th and will be living in Illinois near Chad’s brother’s home. Although our distance and children’s schooling may limit us, we would love to be able to visit and reconnect with you all! We will let you know if and when we are coming to your area.
At this time we will appreciate your prayers for God’s work of grace to see us through all our preparations for our departure and through our transitions to the life and ministry in the States.
